Go-East Travel started out as an advice portal for university students seeking to experience the regions they were studying first-hand. From these humble beginnings it has grown into a fully-fledged travel agency and tour operator with itineraries that take in some of the most well-known sites of the (broadly defined) eastern world.
Our adventurous tours include mountain climbing, horse riding, as well as rafting and canyoning in locations selected to satisfy our clients’ urge to escape the concrete jungles of urban life. Our cultural and experiential learning tours are designed to enrich our clients’ understandings of the societies in question but also, perhaps more importantly, provide insight into the lived reality of everyday life in those places. Whether travellers want to visit the hometown of Stalin, go wine tasting in Georgian wine country, explore the famed castles of Transylvania, or practice yurt building on the Mongolian steppe, our tours provide the opportunity to escape the everyday, and appreciate the revitalising properties of travel.
Go-East Travel prides itself on its relationships with local tour operators, guides, and regional experts which allow for the development of itineraries chock full of local knowledge and historical insight. Our relationship with two very special educational institutions in Tbilisi and Beijing has allowed for the development of Russian, Georgian, and Mandarin language programmes for students from Europe, America, and beyond.
Go-East Travel grew up in the academy, and it has not lost its academic identity; lectures and reading lists are available on several cultural tours (see itineraries for more details). By combining academic rigour with experiential adventure Go-East Travel has developed a loyal client base who return time and again.
