Embark on an exhilarating husky adventure in Romania, starting in Bucharest and sledding through the stunning Transylvanian countryside.

Experience Romania’s medieval towns on a 4-night adventure, featuring a dog sledding experience in Transylvania. Start with a night in Bucharest, then travel to the Transylvanian countryside, stopping at Peles Castle. The next day, head to the Harghita Mountains for a husky sledding adventure. Visit the UNESCO city of Sighisoara, the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, and the medieval town of Sibiu. Finish the journey with a stop at Bran Castle, known as Dracula’s Castle, before returning to Bucharest.

Day One: Arrival in Bucharest

Arrive in Bucharest and explore the capital city. Stroll through the Old Town with its historic sites like the Stavropoleos Monastery and the Palace of the Parliament, the second-largest administrative building in the world. Relax in Herastrau Park, situated around a large lake. Visit museums such as the National Museum of Art and the Museum of the Romanian Peasant to learn about the country's culture. Enjoy traditional Romanian dishes and meet other skiers in the evening to kick off your trip.

Day Two: Brasov - Peles Castle

In the morning, travel to Transylvania with a stop to visit Peleș Castle. Afterwards, check in to your hotel in Brașov, a town rich in history and medieval charm. Spend the rest of the day exploring its cobblestone streets, historic buildings like the Black Church, and the picturesque Council Square.

Day Three: Dog Sledding & Sighisoara Visit

Begin your day with a drive to the home of the huskies, where you'll meet these wonderful dogs before having the chance to drive a team of them across the Transylvanian countryside. Afterwards, head to Sighișoara to explore what is arguably Transylvania's best-preserved medieval citadel. Conclude your day by traveling to Sibiu, where you will spend the night.

Day Four: Bucharest via Bran Castle

Morning transfer to Bran Castle, aka Dracula's Castle for a tour and some lunch before travelling back to Bucharest for your final night.

Day Five: Departure from Bucharest

Transfer back to the airport in time for the flight home.

This husky sledding tour through Transylvania combines adventure with cultural exploration. You'll experience the beauty of the region while visiting attractions like Peleș Castle, Sighisoara, and Bran Castle. The highlight of the tour is the husky sledding experience, where you’ll meet the dogs, learn how to handle the sled, and embark on a short, guided ride through the snowy landscapes. Throughout your journey, a bilingual guide will provide insight into the local history and culture. Winter temperatures in Transylvania can be quite cold, so be prepared for chilly conditions, especially in rural and mountain areas. However, you may also enjoy some winter sunshine while relaxing in a café.

 

Inclusions and Exclusions

 

This tour includes all transfers, accommodation for four nights, and a bilingual guide. Breakfasts, entry to the listed attractions, and the husky sledding experience are included. Water and snacks will be provided during travel. Optional upgrades for a longer sledding session are available. International flights, visa fees, personal expenses, and optional upgrades are not included.

Accommodation is provided in a combination of comfortable hotels and guesthouses in Bucharest, Brașov, and Sibiu. Rooms are shared (twin), with the option for a single supplement available upon request.
